With the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Oticon Foundation NAS has conducted a project to produce the book “Nordic Textbook of Audiology” (In Swedish “Nordisk Lärobok i Audiologi”, NLA).
The sense of hearing is the sense by which humans perceive speech, music, birdsong, children’s cries, fire alarms and a variety of other acoustic signals from the outside world. Audiology is the study of hearing in all its complexity, encompassing medical, technical and behavioral science knowledge.
This book is intended to cover the entire width of audiology to serve as a textbook in vocational training in hearing care and as a reference for professionals in the various personnel categories of hearing care and ear care.
The book is written by a large number of specialists from the Nordic countries under the leadership of an editorial committee and is published with the same content in different language editions in the Nordic countries. More information about the Nordic Textbook of Audiology can be found at www.categner.se.
